I’ve been in your shoes.
I know what it’s like to feel bogged down by business and personal pressures, to struggle to break the fetters holding you back. I know how it is to yearn to make a meaningful difference in people lives and create the lifestyle that you really want.
Prior to launching my role as a personal experience management consultant, I spent more than three decades in business and academia. I started my first entrepreneurial venture when I was 15. Since then I’ve owned several small businesses; and I’ve worked for small companies and multinational corporations, as well as for Stanford University and the University of California. Looking back, I realize how my diverse background helps me appreciate the common issues and unique challenges we face.
Where’d You Learn This Stuff?
While I’ve always enjoyed business, my passion is the exploration of consciousness. Since several profound spiritual experiences as a teenager, I’ve studied the world’s major religions and many of history’s greatest philosophers and teachers. I’ve also studied scientific approaches for expanding our human potential. I combed those ancient and modern teachings to find insights and practices I could immediately put to use in order to master myself and my inner world.
How I Got Started
As my understanding and skills grew I helped many people informally. Then in 2003 I formally answered my calling by beginning to offer professional consulting and training.
As many entrepreneurs do, I grew my practice while maintaining my corporate day job. To my surprise I found it was the business-minded individuals who I worked with that most needed and benefited from my ideas. They were the ones who were quickest to recognize the things that held them back, and the ones most eager to implement changes to solve problems and yield positive outcomes.
Living My Dream
And so I found myself helping people like you to develop the inner tools they need to finally achieve the outer success they desire. As a result, I feel great about the difference I’m making in the world, and I finally have the lifestyle I longed for.
These days my wife Janet and I live in Sebastopol, California in the wine country of Sonoma County about an hour north of San Francisco. Our home is surrounded by vineyards, orchards, woods, and wildlife. We enjoy small town life, yet we’re only 20 minutes from urban amenities in one direction and 20 minutes from the ocean in the other.
Three Things I Do Every Day
Finally, you might like to know that every day I strive to do three things:
- Be of service. No matter how busy things get I make it a point to touch at least one person’s life in a positive way every day. Sometimes that’s through my work or volunteering, but it can be as simple as offering a complement, holding the door, sharing a joke or a smile. Anything that warmly and deliberately acknowledges another person’s presence.
- Learn something. I’m naturally curious. If I’m not learning, I’m not growing. That’s why I love asking people questions. I’m also a voracious reader, mostly of nonfiction. But I also love a good yarn that pulls me deep into a story.
- Have fun. I’m no stranger to hard work, but I also believe in having fun and laughing every day. My favorite things to do are surfing, gardening, and photography.
Here’s to your own success so you can enjoy the career, business success, and lifestyle that best suit you.
